Katherine, BS, LMBT NC#2307, HI# 10575
Although she identifies herself as a global citizen, Katherine Wilder was born in The Republic of Panama and has lived in the US since 1995. Upon graduating from Wingate University with a Bachelors of Science in Sports Medicine in 1999, Katherine continued her education at The Southeastern School of Neuromuscular and Massage Therapy in North Carolina. After completing the comprehensive 500 hr program, Katherine became a nationally certified massage therapist and was invited to join the Southeastern faculty as a lead instructor of Advanced Functional Anatomy and Neuromuscular Therapy. At that time, Katherine also established a regular yoga practice that has supported her and allowed her to deepen her knowledge and awareness of the somatic mind/body connection. In her massage work, Katherine focuses on the Structural Integration approach, incorporating movement therapy with yoga technique and philosophy with massage.
Katherine is also a devoted student of John Friend and Anusara Yoga. Her integral approach to yoga, massage, and her life in general are reflected in her own teachings and consistent practice. When there is integration and harmony in all parts, the result is optimal health and well being. She is inspired by the highest teachings of Anusara Philosophy that remind her of the goodness of life and to experience Spirit in all things. So in each class, Katherine empowers her students and encourages them to have fun creating connection, harmony, and balance in their minds, bodies, and hearts.
